Friday Finds Lady Gaga

Lately I’ve been a bit enamored with Lady Gaga … again. I blame Chantelle Nicholls of Urban Bombshell Makeup Artistry bringing up her craving to do a shoot inspired by Lady Gaga. Despite everything people say about her, she is one of our generations brilliant musicians and entrepreneurs. Today’s Friday Finds are a creative inspiration.

e) New York Couture – I don’t think I would be caught dead in an outfit like that.
f) Gin Martini – Clubbing leggings?
g) Devani Weaver – This dress is very intriguing, maybe I’m becoming a dress person in my ‘old age’.
h) Love at First Blush – The final touch to a Lady Gaga inspired outfit.
i) Iggy Frankie and Cab – A cute bow headband for everyday occasions.

Friday Finds – Whimsy and Spice

Usually I don’t do a Friday Find’s based on one Etsy store, but when I was looking for sweets I kept coming across Whimsy and Spice’s store. They are a perfect example of what I preach in a brand and shows how photos are such an important part to your product. I kept coming back to their store, because their photos looked so yummy – then I would realize it was done by the same person and kept on looking…and then repeat. Even how they wrap their products are amazing, they design is bold and ‘whimsical.’

Friday Finds – Organic

I think this is a perfect time to post my Organic Friday Finds. This week I decided to give goal number three a crack, seeing how K and I are trying to cut down on food costs. Being a man he typically loves his meat, but I think his dislike for cooking is out waying. Therefore my urge to cook again is coming through so be prepared for some yummy vegetarian recipes coming your way this month :)

Organic items always seem to have an air of elegance about them. Something refined that says ‘Buy me, I’ll make your life simple but wonderful’. I get giddy when I find things I love from the look and when I look closer and I see it’s organic.

a) Brown Butter Beauty – Butter deep conditioner? Umm… yes please!
b) Beth Cyr Jewelry – The photo drew me to this find, the ring just amplified it.
c) The Caramel Jar – Caramel is my favourite candy. These look delicious.
d) Magdalinen – A simple necklace for a casual day.
e) Inner Earth Soaps – Can’t make up your mind? A sample of some wonderful products.
f) O Bella Naturals – This soap makes me want to eat it.
g) Orno – Probably my favourite jeweler on Etsy, I have a pair and they are absolutely wonderful.
h) 11m2 – A purse with a cute flower.

Friday Finds – Cookies

Cookies have a special place in my heart, when I feel the blues I whip up a batch of Chocolate Chip cookies (or ask sweetly for K to make them). It wasn’t until this pass Father’s day that I learned that Bob has the same yearning for cookies as I do. We both can eat a whole batch in practically in one sitting, which explains why we never really had cookies in the house, unless it was Christmas shortbread. This week’s shortbread is based on our love of the sweet gooeyness of cookies.

a) Sweet McBirdie’s Confectioneries and Cakes – Truffles with a cookie dough inside? Heaven.
b) Junquete’s – How about some funky cookie cutter earrings?
c) Original Fabric on Wood Art by Shellie Mitchell – Funky and cute, is what I think of cookies and milk.
d) Turtlebob’s Doggie Delights – Even our four legged friends have their own version of cookies.
e) Wood Elements – I love his simple and traditional rolling pins.
f) The Primitive Home – These look very similar to the mixing bowls I have.
g) Heather King Photography – Cookies definitely have a special place in my heart.
