93. Watch a movie from the year I was born (1987)

I’ve heard about this movie for awhile now, especially since my Mother has or used to have the soundtrack for this movie. Despite being a Robin Williams fan, I never saw his academy nomination role. Now seeing it I can see why he was nominated and finding out that most of Robin’s radio broadcasts were improvised makes me appreciate his acting even more.

For people who don’t know what this movie is about; Good Morning Vietnam is a comedy-drama set in Saigon, Vietnam during the Vietnam War. It follows Adrian Cronauer, a dj with the Armed Forces Radio service, who proves popular with the troops, but infuriates his superiors. He falls in love with a Vietnamese girl, befriends her brother and is caught in a cross fire of bombing and befriending an enemy operative that could have him honoroubly discharged.
