Eye of the storm

This has been a long time in coming.

I’m sure that their are several people out there going ‘Yes!’ to see that my blog is finally up. Especially a certain someone *cough* Marissa – who nags me every time I talk to her. Just so she could ‘blog stalk’ me. Yes, I’ve been putting it off, but I’ve tried to be a machine to get things done this week. If the blog was up by Saturday I would allow myself to go shopping. I told myself that I was going to get it done by the end of August, which came and past. Then it was ‘this weekend’ and so on. Half way through September I thought ‘At this point I might as well wait to launch it on my birthday’, which seemed so cliche. Obviously the promise of new clothes, won. It wasn’t until this afternoon that it felt comfortable to do so, though.

The past few months have been tense and the last two weeks, even worse. I’ve felt almost every emotion under the sun. Frustration. Anger. Sadness. Happiness. Everything because of well … everything. I’m so happy that things are going well in my business and I’m finally moving forward, instead of being stuck in a rut. But when one thing goes right, another falls off the track. It wasn’t till this afternoon, sitting in the sunshine, feeling the cool breeze on my cheek, with a heavy kitty on my chest, reading – that I actually felt content and happy.

Eye of the storm. It’s been hectic and I know in the next two weeks it will be hectic again. But that little moment – things just felt at peace. I felt ready.

Normally the little furball is a monster – as seen this morning when I was trying to get work done. Sorry for the quality, but when you have a hyper cat, clawing at your chair, and swiping at your camera …

Loving Life + Food on the Westcoast

In a society dominated by technology and fast food, our culture has lost our sense of adventure, to take that leap of faith to explore and try new things even when it comes to food.
